Andrea Tettamanzi is a full professor at Université Côte d'Azur), where his research affiliation is with the I3S Laboratory and his teaching affiliation is with the Département Informatique.

He is a member of the SPARKS research team and of the Wimmics joint research project between the I3S Laboratory and Inria.

His major research interests are: evolutionary algorithms, fuzzy logic, and soft computing (or computational intelligence) in general; knowledge representation and extraction; the Semantic Web; the logical foundations of cognitive agents; and evolutionary epistemology applied to knowledge graph mining.

In 1995, he was one of the founders of Genetica S.r.l. - Advanced Software Architectures, a Milan-based company specializing in soft computing consulting and applications, of which he finally sold his share in 2008. From 1998 to 2012 he was with the University of Milan, as an assistant professor and then as an associate professor.

Organizational Activities

General Chair of the 10th International Conference on Scalable Uncertainty Management (SUM 2016), held in Nice in September 2016.

Deputy coordinator of the EMMA 2014 Erasmus Mundus Mobility Programme, funded by the European Commission.

Member of the IFIP Working Group 12.1 - Knowledge Representation and Reasoning.
